SUMMERLAND PICKLEBALL ASSOCIATION COMMITTEE'S

 Are you passionate about pickleball and looking to get more involved in our community? Joining a Pickleball Club Committee is a fantastic way to contribute to our club’s growth and enhance the experience for all members!

The Social and Merchandise Committee organizes and coordinates activities that help build connections and camaraderie among club members. Activities include providing refreshments for special events, potlucks, tournaments, and club activities. The committee assists the SPA in designing, acquiring, and selling merchandise and other expendable products.

Looking for members 

The scheduling committee reviews membership needs to create and implement schedules to maximize play time. Focusing primarily on managing calendars and updating sign-up sheets. The committee prepares copies of guest waivers, incident reports, round robins and ensure binders at each location are kept current and in order. They manage the clubs registration waitlist and no-show notifications.

  The court development committee is dedicated to exploring and developing potential new playing venues that serve our Pickleball community. This committee researches, evaluates and oversees possible plans for new locations accommodating the rapid growth and needs of the SPA. Focused on securing funding to support the club’s ongoing and future needs through activities such as grant writing, community outreach, marketing the importance of pickleball, and making direct appeals to individuals, businesses, and organizations.

 The Player Development Committee is responsible for coordinating mentoring, teaching, assessments, and club rating sessions, ensuring all sessions follow SPA-approved game principles. The committee is dedicated to creating programs and opportunities for players of all levels—from beginners to advanced competitors—helping everyone grow and excel in the sport. Level mentors play a vital role by offering guidance, tailored programs, and personalized advice to support players in achieving their individual pickleball goals.

 The Communications committee is responsible for keeping members informed, engaged, and connected within our club. It oversees all aspects of communication, including sending regular newsletters, sharing updates on club activities, and ensuring important information is delivered to members promptly and effectively.

The Facilities and Maintenance committee coordinates all aspects of court maintenance, and inspection of all pickleball related equipment. With club safety in mind help to  keep courts free of debris and leaves, blowing them off on a regular basis. They maintain an inventory of club balls and arrange for the purchase of balls and nets.
